Safety

At Square Construction, safety represents not merely a policy but a fundamental value ingrained in our operations. We are committed to achieving zero fatalities and continuously seek to diminish the occurrence of incidents through comprehensive risk management, innovative practices, and extensive training programs. Adherence to all Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) legislation serves as our minimum requirement; however, our ambition is to establish new industry standards for safety performance. We allocate resources towards advanced safety systems, offer customized training, and empower every employee and subcontractor to assume responsibility for their own safety as well as the safety of their colleagues.

Our aim is to operate fully executing our duty of care to our direct employees and sub-contractors under zero fatal accidents, whilst fulfilling all statutory, contractual and other obligations. We will achieve this by:

  1. Ensuring that H&S and environmental requirements are always given proper consideration when making decisions about other business priorities, such as productivity or profitability.
  2. Setting H&S objectives and targets for improvement and regularly monitoring and reviewing our performance against these objectives and targets.
  3. Striving to eliminate all fatal accidents, whilst to minimise the incidents, accidental injuries, dangerous occurrences and near miss.
  4. Committing to reduce and ultimately prevent all workplace incidents within SQ business.
  5. Developing and adopting best practice methods/standards for the control of workplace risk.
  6. Maintaining and continuously improving effective H&S management systems using a risk based approach and being supported by senior management.
  7. Providing training, appropriate tools, equipment and resources to all employees and sub-contractors so as to enable them to perform their tasks safely.
  8. Promoting and educating our employees on occupational health and mental wellbeing.
  9. Supporting the full rehabilitation of any person who suffers a workplace injury.
